When I try to get online (patched to CHC's servers), the game says that online is no longer available.

i just connected to openspy without a problem, you might be using the wrong patch

I used the THAW launcher that was posted here some time ago, lets me set the resolution to a custom size.

That one wont work anymore unfortunately.

If you hexedit your exe and replace all instances of gamespy.com with openspy.net it will get online for you.

I know i've been procrastinating, I do plan on updating the launcher.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Here's what you can do....
Run the launcher with the exe you plan on using to play THAW with.
Setup your options and select patch and play.
Exit the game.
Open Task Manager and "End Process" "THAWLauncher.exe"
Patch the exe again for OpenSpy support and enjoy.
